Lawn Memorials
Lawn memorials are the usual styles of memorial you will find in Manchester cemeteries and churchyards. They vary in size according to cemetery regulations but all the memorials you see in our showrooms are sized to suit the local rules.
Historically, headstones in the Manchester area were created from marble or yorkstone. Modern memorials are generally made from granite as it is harder wearing than traditional materials. Granite headstones are much easier to clean and also last a lot longer.
Whilst black granite headstones are the most popular, granite is a natural material and comes in lots of different colours, some with very pronounced grains and patterns. Certain styles of artwork work best on black granite though so if you want etched pictures on your memorial we would always recommend black.
